Wait a minute mister postman: Paul Smith shows collection of ‘Stamped Objects’ in Antwerp

And on a much lighter note… If you happen to be in Antwerp, don’t forget to drop by at the Paul Smith shop (Kelderstraat 2-3) and ask the shopkeeper if you can visit the temporary exhibition next-door. For the first time in Europe the British fashion designer is showing some of the so-called Stamped Objects (through November 11) a strange but still unknown fan has been sending him from the States (the first one arrived in ’98). Without wrapping they are delivered by the mailman at Smith’s office in London: the stamps affixed on the objects and Smith’s address also written on them. It never gets too weird or really deranged; apart from that one time a rabbit (a live one) was delivered to Mr. Smith, after he had said that rabbits tend to bring him luck. So just enjoy that bizarre collection of objects (sleigh, skateboard, broomstick, cowbell, green Hulk hands…) with plenty of stamps, and do notice that the fan always tries to find appropriate stamps for each object he sends across the ocean.
