Funny faces and hurried heels: don’t miss Lisette Model at Keitelman Gallery (Brussels)

'Singer at Café Métropole' (Lisette Model; courtesy Keitelman Gallery)It’s slightly beyond the usual scope of this blog, but as it is a gallery show of an extraordinary kind, I just have to point out Resonance, at Keitelman Gallery (Brussels; through March 30). Maurice Keitelman is the owner of the Lisette Model fund together with Baudoin Lebon from Paris (800 pictures; interview here), and that allows him to show an impressive number of pictures by this  renowned Austrian-born American photographer (1901-1983), a key figure in the history of photography. You’ll marvel at the weird faces, but do notice how your ears will pick up the noise from the feet in some of Model’s pictures. Do drop by if you’re in the neighbourhood for the shows of Francesco Vezzoli (Almine Rech) or David Altmejd (Xavier Hufkens), for instance.
