Brussels art gallery does disappearing act (courtesy of Guillaume Bijl)

It’s an uncanny (and funny) transformation. One that would surely make jaws drop at the headquarters of reality tv series Extreme makeover: home edition. Extra Hair Shop? No way. The shop at Rue Dansaert 161 (Brussels) selling wigs and hair extensions isn’t a shop at all. It’s an art gallery. But most of the people who have walked by, the past few weeks, will not even have noticed. Thanks to Belgian artist Guillaume Bijl, who has a history of performing this kind of tricks. Making Etablissement d’En Face ‘disappear’ (through July 14) is for another reason a great idea, as it is their last exhibition at this address. The non-commercial gallery is moving shop to a new space, right in front of Bozar. Bijl also has a show at Galerie Nagel (Berlin, through Sept. 8).
