Two guys, a green room & lots of gold coins: Goetschalckx & Kindermans play ‘Game F’

There was a naked guy in a plastic box, a girl asking for money as I took her picture, and director Jan Lauwers sat in a corner, quietly playing his guitar. But no matter how Needcompany tried to liven things up, during their performance The house of our fathers, in that temporary wooden labyrinth, I must confess I preferred the impertubable devotion of Wannes Goetschalckx & Ruben Kindermans in that beautiful green room at M Museum (Leuven), for Playground. They are silently playing with gold coins, as croupiers dressed in workman’s clothes. Spel F (Game F) is their sixth ‘game’: a sculptural installation in constant motion. Both Needcompany and Goetschalckx & Kindermans will be performing at M until Sunday (11-18).
