Everyone in Venice is a critic, and that’s no lie

What not to miss in Venice? Seems like everybody is asking that same question, these days. Every newspaper and every magazine has been listing the hits and the misses. One of the nicest (and certainly one of the most nicely presented) examples I’ve come across so far is the flip book on the site of the New York Times. And as everyone’s a critic in this day and age art critic Roberta Smith has added a game-like aspect to her list. In the spirit of the Six-Word Memoirs (tell your life story in six words) she asks her readers for an impression in six words about the works of art that have made an impression on her at the Venice Biennale. For all you Venice aficionados out there, this is Smith’s list: Maurizio Cattelan, Stelios Faitakis, Adrián Villar Rojas, Carol Bove, Joana Vasconcelos, Adel Abdessemed, Cindy Sherman, Ryan Gander, Norma Jeane and Arturo Barrio.
