Please allow me to introduce myself, I’m a man of wealth and taste: Vanhaerents Art Collection presents ‘Sympathy for the devil’

He used to be the boss of a construction company, now Walter Vanhaerents is the proud owner of an exhibition space in Brussels many museum directors will envy him for: the Vanhaerents Art Collection. For the second time he has selected some works of art from his private collection (in collaboration with Pierre-Olivier Rollin of BPS 22, Charleroi). He presents these 40 or so works in an exhibition called Sympathy For The Devil, on view through November 2013.
Maybe this selection might not be entirely of your taste (I think I preferred his previous presentation, or was that just due to the shock of entering that building for the first time?), but you will have to admit two things: it’s great to have such an exhibition space in the center of Brussels, and it’s wonderful that, whereas many Belgian collectors keep their collections to themselves, Vanhaerents decided to share his art with everyone.
You can visit the Vanhaerents Art Collection on Saturdays (group booking). From now on individual visits are possible too, every first Saturday of the month, but on appointment only. Info here.

  1. Love this blog!! Flushing, Queens totally rocks!! Used to live there, but unfortunately not Utopia Parkway. What a name!!

Now living in Stockholm, no funny-named streets here.

Check konsthopp.wordpress.com for the contemporary art-scene in Stockholm!

    Keep on-going with the blog!

  2. It is wonderful that you are sharing your art collection to the world!!!
