Mysterious elements and strange objects: Valérie Mannaerts at Elisa Platteau & Cie (Brussels)

Personally, I like a little mystery. That’s why I would strongly advise you to include Elisa Platteau & Cie in your itinerary for Art Brussels’  Gallery Night tonight. Walking into that downtown exhibition space and seeing Valérie Mannaerts‘ sculptures, feels like falling into a strange story where you have to come up with all the missing links yourself. You’re handed a few rather surreal elements – a ‘gathering of things’  as art critic Dieter Roelstrate describes all of this – but then it’s up to you. Some of the objects have been on display already, at Extra City (Antwerp) and De Appel (Amsterdam). The exhibition runs through May 21. Info here.
