Living machine, moving sculpture, sound and light show?

Is it a living machine, a moving sculpture, or a sound and light show of a different kind? It’s a bit of everything actually. If you’re planning on visiting Lucas Cranach or Wim Delvoye at Bozar (Brussels), during the last week of these exhibitions, do come a bit earlier to take a look at this strange ever-changing installation (for free; through January 23). It is a weird-looking combination of junk and technology, by Norwegian art collective Verdensteatret (Theatre of the world), called Fortellerorkesteret (The telling orchestra). I sat in front of it and watched the puppets and shadows come and go, yesterday, not really knowing what to make of it. Sure, it’s an interesting contraption, with music, light, images, robots and videos. But strangely enough it failed to make a lasting impression on me. Want to meet and talk to the artists? They will be at Bozar, every day at 1PM. Info here, more images here. For a 25 min. video click here.
