The hills are stuffed with… sculptures (‘Sculptour 2010’)

In dire need of some fresh air and a walk in the countryside? And you’re not opposed to taking in a little culture along the way too? Some sculptures, for instance? They I might have the perfect solution. Why don’t you drive up to the Flemish village of Kluisbergen, during the weekend? (For all you cycling fans out there, yes, that’s Ronde Van Vlaanderen territory) OK, Sculptour is not Antwerp’s Middelheim, you won’t see any big names, but the garden of galerie Beukenhof is rather spectacular (and surprisingly big and even quite romantic) and you’ll find plenty of more or less interesting sculptures in the green, green grass, by forty artists. I did spend a lovely hour or so out there. (‘Sculptour 2010’, through September 19, open on weekends, 2 till 7 PM; 5 euro, more info and a Google map here.) You’ll find some snapshots after the jump.
