‘Leaving Las Vegas’-director comes to Belgium to film Flemish choreographer
Remember Leaving Las Vegas, that Oscar-winning film from ’95, with Nicolas Cage drinking himself to death in Las Vegas? Mike Figgis, the director of that movie, will be shooting a film about Co(te)lette, an award-winning choreography of Flemish choreographer Ann Van den Broek. The Flemish Audiovisual Fund has just confirmed production support for the film. Shooting starts on May 3rd at the Alfacam Studios in Lint (Belgium). Co(te)lette was awarded with the Zwaan (Swan) for most impressive choreography in the Netherlands in 2008. Van den Broek just won a Mouson Award (and 15.000 euro) in Frankfurt for her work. You’ll find more on Van den Broek, who strangely enough seems to be more applauded abroad than in Belgium, here.
